A Different Kind of Leader
In a business eco-system crowded with loud, crass, and aggressive male leadership intent on more power, wealth, and global domination, there aren't many role models to look up to, especially for young women.
Judy Mcgrath is one of the few icons who still inspires. Brilliant and bold, she is the visionary who created a culture of radical openness and calculated risk-taking at MTV where the next big idea could come from anyone.
A champion of creatives, a fierce advocate for unheard voices, and an executive who leads with compassion, curiosity, humor, and humility- traits notably missing from most CEOs leading the biggest companies in the world. No wonder she, with other radicals like her, created one of the most iconic brands in history that profoundly shaped pop culture.
Judy reminds me that in a world fraught with grave challenges and staggering inequality, we need leaders who understand that elevating the human condition might be the best business strategy of all. And empathy, grace, and humanity are more important than acquisitveness, ego, and an Ivy League degree.
Fortunate to have worked with her for two decades and count her as a mentor and friend.
