“..There is a lot to be learned from the rest of the world, obviously. We have exported our ideas, our technologies, our philosophies, our pop culture to the rest of the world. And we had the opportunity to bring some of that back from the countries that we were engaging with, and we’ve done a pretty bad job of that. I view that as a very imperialistic approach to engaging with the world… So, we are really the losers in that”

“This short film is lush, inspiring, gorgeous, memorable, sweet, evocative, ardent, lovely and unforgettable.”

”A week after seeing the film "Stories I Told My Mother" I was moved to make the 18-hour drive to visit my own mom, who is age 80 and still a model of courage. Thanks to Nusrat's inspiration, I am looking forward to spending hours with my mother, sharing the stories of wonder that I write about every day. Now I understand that the source of almost everything that is good may be an unbreakable woman.”

“I was pretty entranced by our guest last week - he was out of this world creative and imaginative. His work that he showed us left everyone speechless. It was beautiful. I loved hearing about his life, I admired how he was able to be transparent and genuine in front of us. He made me laugh, he inspired me, and uplifted me. I felt a blanket of calmness cover the audience when he started talking. He had the qualities of a healer and a creative genius. I felt very lucky to be in his presence.”
KATHERINE R Student at The New School
“I am not really an easily inspired or impressed person, to be very honest, but Nusrat REALLY inspired me. Coming from an international background and a major in culture and media, I really connected to Nusrat’s global perspective and his ability to combine that with his artistic/storytelling side. I felt like I saw a future me/career in his work, and it pushed me to rethink my possibilities in fashion/entertainment.”
SOPHIA K Student at The New School
“Nusrat Durani was one of, if not the most inspiring, humorous, kind and authentic speakers I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to first-hand. Before class, I didn’t really have a full idea of what to expect… After class on the other hand, I found myself sharing Nusrat’s story and shared wisdom on repeat to pretty much all of my friends and family; something I don’t tend to do very often.”
