Leaving India

It's the longest I've been here in 25 years. Two months and 23 days. How this country drips into you. It's insanity and chaos and inequities and it's wild beauty and gentle intoxication. Someone told me when the Parsis were trying to enter India they sent a message to the King that if they were let in they would mingle and sweeten the country like sugar in water. Impressed, the King agreed and the Parsis have kept their word. That's what India does to you in reverse- it dissolves in your soul and you forever carry its madness and magic with you.

It's been sweet being here but it's time to go. Thank you to all my friends and collaborators and well wishers who made my stay so magnificent and creative.

I'm gonna be back before you know it.... Until then, don't forget to kiss the sky...
