Timnit Gebru:技术活动家解决人工智能方面的偏见

With Artificial Intelligence rapidly permeating all aspects of modern life, whether it be robots as hiring managers, driverless cars, Google searches, Alexa or Siri, an important question arises: whose responsibility is it to ensure that the underlying technology is not inadvertently biased and the flawed assumptions and exclusions that disfigure analog life do not carry over to AI?

I have been following Timnit Gebru’s work for a while and the lack of diversity in the field of technology and machine learning she points to is alarming, Fortunately, Gebru, who has a PhD from the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, is at the forefront of many of the efforts to correct this glaring flaw in the critically important field of AI. Whether it be researchers working on data sets, the creation of standards and guidelines for machine learning or the fairness and transparency with which we go about training computers to create algorithms, Gebru is taking on some big challenges. Her work has been reported in the New York Times and a variety of leading publications.

Mar.26 -- Microsoft Post Doctoral Researcher Timnit Gebru discusses the effects of bias in artificial intelligence. She speaks with Emily Chang on "Bloomberg Technology."
